Well ladies, let us start by telling you under eye wrinkles are absolutely normal. They are a beautiful sign of your age and experience and a natural part of growing up, but if they still bother you or make you self-conscious, we have a few tips for you that can help you prevent under-eye wrinkles and also get rid of them. 

Know your wrinkles

But before we dive into remedies, it is important to understand the reason behind your wrinkles. As you age, your skin tends to lose its elasticity due to environmental factors, genetics, and aging. But as compared to the rest of your face, the skin around your eyes is an area that’s likely to show earlier signs of aging. So, there’s nothing to be worried about, as these wrinkles can be a just sign that our skin cells are losing collagen and reducing their ability to renew themselves. 

Tips to reduce under-eye wrinkles

Here is a list of things that you can easily do at home: 

Moisturize 

 First thing first, moisturizing is the first step towards a healthy and hydrated skin. Moisturize the skin under your eyes as it tends to gets dried up faster than the rest of your face. 

Exfoliate 

Exfoliation under your eyes can help get rid of dead skin in that area. Gently exfoliate under your eyes using a mild exfoliator that is made especially for under-eye skin. 

Facial exercises

Also known as facial yoga, this is a common method that helps in tightening your skin and preventing it from hanging loose. As loose skin is more prone to wrinkles, facial exercises work magically on your facial skin. 

Eye creams

Eye creams are specifically made to reduce wrinkles under your eyes. Hence, they work wonders as an anti-aging agent and reduce under-eye wrinkles. However, it is also important to choose the right eye cream. 

Before buying, always check if your cream has Hyaluronic acid, peptides, retinol, and sunscreen.

Yes, you read that right. Your stocked kitchen is nothing less than a pharmacy store. Try these home remedies to get flawless under-eye skin. 

  • Aloe vera for under eyes – Massage aloe vera gel under your eyes and rinse it off with warm water. The healing properties of aloe vera work like magic on your skin. 
  • Olive oil- Massage with olive oil for 20 minutes without adding too much pressure, then rinse it off. DO this diligently for a couple of days and start noticing changes yourself.
  • Homemade face mask – Mix yogurt, rose water, and honey in a bowl and apply as a mask under your eyes. Wait for it to dry then wash it off with fresh water.
  • Turmeric and coconut- The healing powers of turmeric and coconut oil, together can turn out to be a blessing for your skin. Massage with the mix of turmeric and coconut oil under your eyes for 20 minutes daily and see your wrinkles getting washed away. 

Cosmetic procedures

Dermal fillers, micro-needling, laser treatments, Botox, chemical peels, etc are some cosmetic procedures that can help you. While some will remove the wrinkles completely permanently, some only help them reduce. You can refer to your dermatologist and cosmetologist to find the best cosmetic procedure for you.

While these were some easy-to-follow tips and tricks that can make under-eye wrinkles vanish very easily. However, if you are in your 20s, you can start early and prevent them at an early stage and not worry about those wrinkles ever! 

Vitamins in your diet

Vitamins like Vitamin A, C, and E can make your skin look younger. These are also used in anti-aging creams. You can have them daily by incorporating foods like carrots, oranges, spinach, pumpkin, broccoli, etc in your diet.

Sunscreen 

Protect that precious skin while stepping out by applying a generous amount of sunscreen, especially under your eyes to protect them from the UV rays of the sun. 

Avoid Smoking

The numbers of cigarettes you smoke per day are directly proportional to how quickly your skin deteriorates. Smoking not only has adverse health effects it also takes a toll on your skin and makes you look older than you are. 

Massage your face

Regular massaging improves your blood circulation in the skin and helps in keeping it young for a longer period.
